Accessibility

A shop for people running on empty shouldn't be hard work to use. If it is, that's our problem to fix, not yours.

What we've done

  • Text colours meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast, with room to spare.
  • You can get around the whole site with a keyboard, and you can always see where you are.
  • Menus and the basket panel close with Escape and put you back where you were.
  • Pages work at phone width and when zoomed to 400%, without sideways scrolling.
  • Buttons and links are big enough to tap.
  • Every form field has a visible label.
  • Images have alt text that says what's in them.
  • Animations are reduced if your device asks for that.

If something gets in your way

Tell us. Email hello@cutlerycrisis.com with "Accessibility" in the subject line and we'll treat it as a priority. We reply within 2 to 3 working days.

If you want to order but the website won't let you, email us and we'll sort it another way.

What we know isn't perfect

We check every page with automated tools and by keyboard. We haven't yet had a full review with a screen reader, so there may be things we've missed.

Our reviews and checkout are run by other services (Judge.me and Shopify), so we don't control how those parts behave. If either gives you trouble, let us know and we'll pass it on.

Accessibility isn't an extra here. Half of us need it.
